School history

In 1951, the North Sichuan Medical School in Southwest China was established.

In 1965, the school was upgraded and renamed Nanchong medical college.

In 1985, the University was upgraded to an undergraduate college and renamed as North Sichuan Medical College. The first four-year undergraduate program entered the University.

In 1989, the University obtained the right to confer bachelor's degree.

In 1997, it passed the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment organized by the former State Education Commission.

In 2006, it was approved as a master's degree awarding unit by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council.

In 2007, the University passed the undergraduate teaching evaluation of the Ministry of education and was rated as excellent.
