Qifeng Lake

Qifeng Lake scenic spot is located in Youshui basin in the north of Guzhang County. It was approved as a provincial scenic spot by Hunan Provincial Government in 1993, with a total area of 431 square kilometers, including 25 square kilometers of water surface. Qifeng lake has a wide Outer Lake, a circuitous inner lake, rich levels, peculiar mountains, and ancient and magical national culture and historical sites.

Qifeng lake is the largest artificial lake on Youshui River, with an area of 167 square kilometers and an average water depth of 30 meters. Ten thousand mu of lake surface is rippling with blue waves and vast expanses. The mountains along the lake are emerald, the tea and fruit are fragrant, and the flowing springs and streams float into the lake like silver belts from the high mountains and forests. Painters Huang Yongyu and long Qinglian once went boating here, with the title of "picturesque green mountains and poetic blue water"; famous journalist and essayist Xiao Li danced in the lake and sang the praise of "misty landscape"; poet Wang huanchi praised "the light of the lake, the autumn moon and the gentle breeze in the view of Phoenix Lake". /The scenery of Qifeng is green to the eye. Peng haodang, a famous minstrel, sleeps on the lake at night, looks at the moon and recites poems, which is named "fairyland on earth". Especially when summer comes, it is scorching and hot in other places, but the lake is cool with mountain breeze and pleasant climate.

There is also jinfengzhou on the Bank of the lake. It is said that Jinfeng, originally resting on Fenghuang Mountain in Yuanling, lives here in groups. Both the island and the lake are named after Jinfeng. There is a small island beside jinfengzhou. It is a round island with green trees. It looks like the egg of Jinfeng, so it is called fengegg island. On the other hand, Tongming mountain on the lakeside has towering peaks, surrounded by ancient trees and protruding stone bones, which looks like a cat.

The Qifeng lake is a typical karst landform, with its level like a mirror, green hills like a screen, fish flying at the bottom of the lake, boats shuttling, unique geological structure on both sides, complete mountains, water, forests and caves. It is unique in domestic scenic spots. There are 21 scenes, which are connected and lifelike. The cultural landscape is also very rich. There are ancient places of interest such as the original site of xiaxizhou ancient city. The national cultural relic Xizhou Millennium copper pillar was originally erected here. Xiaxizhou ancient city is now the site of huixiping, Luoyixi town.

Migratory bird protection station

Guzhang County has set up "Guzhang County migratory bird protection station" in Qifeng Lake Wetland Reserve, and set up 13 monitoring points and 13 inspection lines in the whole county to effectively strengthen the protection of migratory birds within its jurisdiction.
