Lihuangpi road is located in Hankou, Wuhan City, Hubei Province, with a total length of 604 meters. It was built by Huangpi people in 1900 (26th year of Guangxu), so it is called Huangpi Road. Its predecessor was Yima street in the Russian concession. Because Li Yuanhong, the two presidents of the Republic of China, was born in Huangpi and was called Li Huangpi, this road was renamed Li Huangpi Road in 1946. In 1997, Jiang'an District Government of Wuhan city established it as a street Museum for protection.
After Hankou was opened as a port in 1861, the great powers poured in one after another. In the area of 2.46 square kilometers around Lihuangpi Road (Yima Street), the concession of Britain, France, Russia, Germany and Japan was divided, 12 foreign consulates, nearly 30 foreign financial institutions and more than 100 foreign firms were established. Hankou presented a group of abnormal prosperity with colonial color and became the "Oriental Chicago" that colonists were happy to forget to return. Lihuangpi Road, located in the center of the concession, is the epitome of this humiliating history.
Today, the street Museum of Lihuangpi road includes 17 ancient buildings, with steles on the street and at the end of the street.
