Beihong Village

Beihong village is located in the northernmost part of China, at the junction of China and Russia. It belongs to Beiji Township, Mohe County, Heilongjiang Province. It is surrounded by mountains in the South and North, and passes through the village in the East and West. Beihong village is a pure land far away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The real northernmost village is located in the northernmost mountains of Daxing'an Mountains. It is surrounded by undeveloped virgin forests and dense trees. Beihong villagers do not use tap water, but use killing wells to get water. Due to the felling of trees, there are few towering trees and rare animals in Daxinganling. Only Beihong village, the northernmost village in the geographical location, can preserve a trace of primitive flavor. Coming here will make you feel the northernmost northeast flavor.

It belongs to Beiji Town, Mohe City, Daxing'anling area, Heilongjiang Province. Beihong village is located in the northeast of Mohe City, the upper reaches of Heilongjiang Province and the junction of China and Russia. Its geographical coordinates are 123 degrees 17 minutes east longitude and 53 degrees 33 minutes north latitude. It is the northernmost village administrative region in China. Beihong village is surrounded by mountains on three sides and Heilongjiang Province passes through the north of the village from west to East. It is a pure land far away from the hustle and bustle of the city and the real northernmost village. There are about 320 people in the village, and more than 40% of them are of Russian descent.

On July 28, 2019, Beihong village was selected into the list of the first batch of key Rural Tourism Villages in China.

Historical evolution

During the gold mining period in the late Qing Dynasty, dacaodianzi had been settled, mainly by hunters and Chinese farmers who came down from the gold mines to fish and farm. During this period, many Russian women married to China, while the impoverished Chinese peasants crossed the river to make a living.

The animal husbandry society was established in dacaodianzi in the summer of 1956.

During the cultural revolution, dacaodianzi was renamed Beihong village.

Beihong village is located in the northernmost mountains of Daxing'an Mountains. It is surrounded by undeveloped virgin forests, dense trees, wild fruits and small animals such as wild boar, roe deer, snow rabbit and flying dragon. Need to have local people as a guide (otherwise easy to get lost). At the end of summer, you can pick wild fruits, mushrooms and Auricularia auricula. You can also look for wild Ganoderma lucidum and other valuable medicinal materials.

Along the cobblestone riverbank, pacing with your own feelings, listening to the wind and water, you will feel that you are in paradise. If you are interested in strange stones, you can move forward slowly and bend down. You will find many stones that surprise you, agate stones. I believe that everyone can find their favorite stone. On the other side of the river is the scenery of Russia. Sometimes you feel that you can touch the trees on the opposite side with your hand. --Those used to be our territory (Russia in 1999).

There are sailors of the northernmost army stationed by the river. They shoulder the mission of defending the northernmost frontier of the motherland. Two patrol boats dock at the river.

Beihong village is surrounded by mountains. However, there are large areas of grassland and countryside here. Grass interspersed with countless flowers can not be named.

The main scenic spots are Beihong village, the first bend of Longjiang River scenic spot, Wusuli shoal, and Echu resort.

Travel Tips

1. The traffic here is not very convenient. It's better to charter a car.

2. When you travel in the greater Khingan mountains, you'd better be led by the local people to avoid getting lost.

3. Once you get lost, you should find a main road to go down the mountain; if there is no obvious path in the dense forest, follow the direction under the stream.
