Xiamen Olympic Museum

Xiamen Olympic Museum is the first Olympic Museum in China approved by the International Olympic Committee and the Chinese Olympic Committee. It is also one of the 22 members of the International Olympic Museum Union. It is an independent international non-profit public welfare organization. Mr. Wu Jingguo, member of the International Olympic Committee, President of the International Boxing Federation and world famous architectural expert, has been planning, designing and creating the museum for many years, and is the curator himself. The museum has a rich collection of cultural relics related to the Olympic Games, which aims to spread the Olympic culture and carry forward the Olympic spirit, so that more people can understand, feel and share the history and glory of the Olympic Games.

The museum is an open structure, the main building is divided into three layers, and the design inherits the concept of the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland. The hall on the first floor is a public area, equipped with a multimedia lecture hall, VIP conference room, coffee and leisure hall, as well as a souvenir shop with the theme of International Olympic Games and previous Olympic Games. In the center of the hall is an 80 ton jasper stone from the Yangtze River. The second floor is composed of a preface hall and four exhibition halls. Most of the exhibits are collected by Mr. Wu Jingguo, who has been a member of the International Olympic Committee for 20 years There are more than 11000 Olympic related cultural relics and souvenirs, including Olympic torch, medals, stamps, badges, commemorative coins, mascots, etc. There is also an underground floor with a temporary exhibition and boxing ring.

The main function of the museum is to publicize the Olympic culture and show the Olympic history and precious cultural relics to the public, so that the public can learn more about the Olympic information and knowledge and get closer to the Olympic Games.
