Fangtze Eurotown, located in Fangzi District, Weifang City, Shandong Province, developed on both sides of the central axis of Fangzi section of Jiaoji railway. It used to be a colony of Germany and Japan. It used to be an old Fangzi District. Basic information

With a planning area of 1.4 square kilometers, it takes Centennial German Japanese architecture as the cultural axis of the project, Fangzi section of Jiaoji Railway as the historical axis, repairs these historical relics that are about to be abandoned as one of the motives, takes improving the quality of life of residents in Fangzi old city as one of the goals, and takes inheriting and carrying forward Weifang's industrial history and culture as one of the responsibilities Town. It has been concerned and recognized by many scholars and provincial and municipal leaders at home and abroad. Fangci town is about to reappear its former prosperity with its rich historical and cultural connotation.

This German Japanese style building complex was formed during the German Japanese colonial period from 1898 to 1914. Now there are 103 German style buildings and 63 Japanese style buildings, each of which is a treasure. They have three characteristics as a world heritage, namely authenticity, integrity and uniqueness, which are relatively rare in the country. The 103 German style buildings constitute a complete colonial system, including German headquarters, German hospital, railway station, locomotive maintenance section, telegraph building, post office, coal mine, nun building, church, school, barracks, water station, senior officer villa area, etc. Time travel, abandoned German architecture for a long time no one cares, once bustling silently. Until now, it has attracted the attention of the relevant departments, and people have only noticed that the long forgotten building has great historical, cultural, architectural, tourism and other development value.

Current situation of Fangci town

Fangzi government has decided to take three to five years to develop and build a Rhine style town with 103 German style buildings as the core, reproduce the historical features of the 1920s and 1930s, restore the natural ecology and the original context of human culture, and make it the first German style ecological town with all-round cooperation in economy, technology and culture between China and Germany.

In 2008, it began to develop and construct. In 2009, it successfully built four projects: Fangci Planning Exhibition Center, 1898 beer United Nations, Yokota Posthouse and Zhengjin Bank Guild Hall. Fangci town has been included in the key urban construction projects of Weifang City, and has successfully built such projects as Fangci Art Museum, International Youth Hostel, German villa area, small town one pot, etc. In recent years, through the protection, maintenance and cultural implantation, it has gradually formed a rudiment, so that this piece of decayed old buildings can be reborn and become a cultural and original art industrial park in Jiaodong Peninsula.
