Matang Gejia village is located 21 kilometers north of Kaili city. Gejia is a unique ethnic minority. They claim to be the descendants of Houyi. The clothing of the Ge family is very special, just like the ancient general. It is said that in ancient times, there was a general's wife who went to the battlefield for her husband in military uniform and won the battle. In order to commemorate her, the women in the festival had to wear the general's uniform. In addition to clothing, the most attractive thing about Matang is Youge's Batik with bright colors and exquisite patterns. Local women began to learn how to light flowers when they were eight or nine years old. At the age of fifteen or sixteen, they had become experts in wax. They decorated their clothes, skirts, braces, aprons, curtains, quilt covers and tablecloths with batik. Therefore, when they came to Matang, they fell into the world of batik.

History and culture

The family (, Yin g ě, not in the word bank) is a minority ethnic group in Guizhou, China. They have no characters and claim to be the descendants of Yi, the hero of shooting the sun in ancient legends. They are a nation to be identified. They have their own language, clothing and living habits.

Historical legend

In order to make his descendants inherit the tradition and remember his glory, he passed the red tassel cap on to his daughter and passed it on from generation to generation. The girl's red hat is the sun hat, the silver hairpin is the arrow, the silver ring is the bow, and the bun on the back of the woman's head is the sun, and the bow is the moon. Matang is 18 kilometers away from Kaili City and 8 kilometers away from Xianglu mountain. Take the bus from Kaili to Yudong, Longchang, Chongan and Huangping in Xianglushan (Huzhuang) and get off at the intersection of Matang. The fare is 3 yuan.
