Originally named Dagushan, it was regarded as falling from the sky by later generations, so it was renamed as Dagushan, with an altitude of 395.9 meters. This mountain belongs to one of the "liegu shooting at the sun" mentioned in "Shanhaijing". Standing on the top of the mountain, you can clearly see the landscapes of Zuo Qinglong, you Baihu, the front rosefinch and the back Xuanwu. It is difficult to see this spectacle among all the famous mountains and rivers in China.

Mingquan

On the top of Tuogu mountain, there is a small natural pool between the two boulders, which gathers nectar all the year round. It is called "yulutianchi", which is the first holy water of Tuogu mountain. During the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, pan Lianchi, a good man, dreamed that there was holy water beside the ancient Taoyuan cave in Shanyang, So the next day pan Lianchi went to excavate, and sure enough, there was a spring with clear and sweet water, which was the second holy water of Tuogu mountain. Now this holy water still exists, and the bottom is clear. Wang Yuyang, who was one of the seven sea people of Yushan sect of Taoism in the Jin Dynasty (1198), often came to Tuogu mountain, wansongling Sanyuan palace in the foot of Shanxi Province, and Yuhuang temple in Shibu mountain to preach scriptures According to Xiantong's guidance, Lai Zhenren excavated four famous springs, namely, Renshen spring, Hehua spring, Yuanbao spring and Changshou spring.

It is also strange to say that drinking ginseng spring water can cure all kinds of diseases; bathing with lotus spring water can cure eye diseases and skin diseases; drinking longevity spring water can prolong life; drinking Yuanbao spring water is a source of wealth. So the real man planted tea trees in the northern foot of the mountain and made green tea with sweet spring water for tourists to taste.

In the past, when cholera was prevalent, Taoists used ginseng spring water to give to the villagers, saving a large number of patients. Therefore, it has become a custom to take holy water to treat diseases and prolong life. For hundreds of years, hundreds of thousands of people have been climbing mountains to worship gods and draw holy water when spring is warm and flowers are blooming. Even people hundreds of miles away are pulling people to fetch water.

Legendary allusions

When Erlang God returned to heaven after the mountain was built, he left two mirrors on the mountain of Tuogu, which is the mirror stone on the mountain today, shining on both the sky and the world. It is said that this mirror can tell the good and evil of people, so some evil people dare not look in the mirror after climbing up the mountain.

When Erlang God went forward, he passed dadanjia village at the foot of Tuogu mountain, left a footprint on the stone boron in the north of the village, and left two tree species here. After thousands of years, the two immortal trees grew into two European fruit trees with luxuriant branches and leaves, and still stand tall today. The other foot on the northern Hengshan of Gongjia village, the two footprints are still clear and can be distinguished, and are called "immortal feet" by later generations.

The main scenic spots of Tuogu mountain are: Jinji stone, Shenxian cave, huiluantai, Renshen spring, Changshou spring, Hehua spring, Yuanbao spring, Taoyuan ancient cave, Mingya stone carving, Baojing stone, jinhou peak, Yulu Tianchi, temples, etc. Now the ancient temples on Tuogu mountain have been rebuilt and restored. Every year, the temple fair is held on April 15 of the lunar calendar. On this day, more than 100000 people rush to the temple fair.

Tuogu mountain is located in the north of Yintan tourist resort. The mountain is abrupt and stands facing the sea. It looks like a Buddha sitting in the distance.
