The South Gate of the old town of Yinchuan is the only and most complete preserved gate building among the six ancient buildings in Yinchuan. Local people used to call it the South Gate building. The south gate we see today was rebuilt in 1917. Since the 1950s, after many renovations, the city walls on the East and west sides of the South Gate building have been demolished, and the South Gate Square has been opened up. Besides, the viewing platform has been built on both sides of the South Gate building, and many flowers and trees have been planted in the north and south.

The South Gate Square in front of the south gate is the place for major celebrations and gatherings in Yinchuan city for quite a long time. However, with the rapid development of Yinchuan City, there are many high-rise buildings near the south gate. The effect of climbing the building and looking into the distance no longer exists. All kinds of gatherings and activities have been moved to the modern people's Square.

Nanmen Cultural Square is located in the middle of Hongqi Avenue, Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province. It is composed of East and west gardens, central stacked pool, car green belt and central flower bed, with a total area of nearly 4.1 hectares. It is an open cultural square integrating viewing, leisure, entertainment and transportation.

In 1999, Nanmen square was rebuilt. The East and west walls were removed and opened to the public. It was the first green project in Ganzhou City. After reconstruction, it was renamed Nanmen Cultural Square. The reconstruction of the square green space adopts the design method of free style, open, simple, bright, and increasing the sight permeability. It is planned and designed again to basically maintain the contour line of the original Nanmen square green space. After removing the wall, the eastern and Western gardens have a quiet and elegant environment. A large area of ornamental lawn has been built, and various flowers and trees have been planted. Lakes, bridges, sculptures and fountains are dotted among them. At the same time, according to local conditions, an open-air performance stage was set up in each park. At the junction of the central square and Wenqing Road, there is a new multi-level fountain. The green belt and central flower bed are designed with plants, which are novel and unique. The green space is equipped with underwater lamp, garden lamp, lawn lamp, sound and other modern gardening equipment to fully embody the modern garden atmosphere. In 2001, with the activities of building a civilized city, we continued to build and improve the square green space. Demolish the temporary buildings in the East and west gardens and restore more than 900 square meters of green space. In order to beautify and unify the square, pole lights, sky roses, color spotlights, double row and double pole lights are added in the green space of the square, and neon outline lights are installed in the buildings. As night falls and lights begin to shine, the scenery of the square becomes more charming. The rebuilt and improved Nanmen cultural square has become a main activity place for the general public, an important window for the spiritual civilization construction of Ganzhou City, and a central square for tourists from other places.
