·Lanzhou University, founded in 1909, is a comprehensive national key university. Its predecessor is Gansu law and politics school established during the New Deal period in the late Qing Dynasty. It is the symbol of the beginning of modern higher education in Gansu Province and the pioneer of higher education in Northwest China.
