Yuxi Museum, adjacent to Hongta Hotel and Nie'Er Park, is a comprehensive and multi-functional Museum integrating collection, display, scientific research and external publicity and exchange.

Yuxi Museum has eight basic exhibitions and one temporary exhibition hall, including paleontology hall, Neolithic hall, bronze hall, porcelain hall, calligraphy and painting hall, modern history hall, culture and art hall, and tobacco hall, with an exhibition area of more than 5000 square meters. All exhibition halls strive to apply new exhibition concept, cooperate with modern sound, light and electricity technology, supplemented by three-dimensional animation, touch screen, simulation scene, spectator participation in operation and other methods.

Development history

Yuxi museum is equipped with VIP reception room, academic lecture hall, cultural relic storeroom, cultural relic restoration center, library and information room. Two basic exhibitions have been completed: the porcelain hall and the painting and calligraphy hall. In the porcelain hall, Yunnan blue and white porcelain products, represented by Yuxi kiln, an important kiln for blue and white porcelain production in Yuan and Ming Dynasties, are displayed, mainly including huniudui stick figure green pot, blue and white peony pot and yuzao jade pot spring bottle. Zhao Shilin, Kan Zhenzhao, Zhu Jiabao and other famous artists from Ming and Qing Dynasties to the Republic of China in Yuxi and Liang Tongshu are exhibited in the painting and calligraphy hall. Miao Jiahui, Huang Binhong, Liu Haisu and other famous Chinese Calligraphers and painters. Other exhibition halls are under intense preparation. The paleontology hall will display trilobites, Yunnan insects, Fuxianhu insects and other animal fossils in Maotian mountain, Chengjiang, which indicate the "Cambrian explosion of life"; the protopodian dinosaur fossils from the end of Triassic to the early Jurassic in Yimen and Eshan; and the well-known paleontological fossils in China The bronze hall will focus on the tomb of Lijiashan ancient Dian state in Jiangchuan, one of the "ten new archaeological discoveries of China in 1992". It will focus on the display of such exquisite and mysterious frontier bronzes as sacrificial shellfish, badminton race, bronze drum and buckle ornaments, reflecting the gorgeous bronze culture of Dianchi Basin and Red River region. Other exhibition halls will display "Yuxi prehistoric culture light" and "Yuxi alone" Special folk culture -- the hometown of lantern, the hometown of cloud and smoke, the hometown of Nie'Er. All exhibition halls strive to apply the new exhibition concept, cooperate with the modern sound, light and electricity technology, supplemented by three-dimensional animation, touch screen, simulation scene, observation and participation in operation and other methods. During the preparation and improvement of the basic exhibition, the museum actively held and introduced 15 temporary exhibitions, including the exhibition of Chinese famous characters and paintings of past dynasties, the exhibition of Yuxi's achievements in 50 years, the soul of red rock, the exhibition of miraculous ancient tombs unearthed from Han Tombs in Mawangdui, Changsha, and the exhibition of advocating science and civilization and opposing superstition and ignorance.
