Town God's Temple, Shaxian County
Town God's Temple, Shaxian County, is the largest and best preserved County Town God's Temple in Fujian Province, which is a provincial cultural relic protection unit. Town God's Temple is located in the eastern part of the county. The existing building was built in the nine year of Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (AD 1744).
Introduction to scenic spots
Shaxian County Town God's Temple has a large building, covering an area of more than 6000 square meters and a building area of 2890 square meters. On the ground axis, from the front, there are the mountain gate, the middle hall, the daozuo Baodian, Baoxia, xianglang and the main hall. The main hall is five rooms wide, with a width of 23.27 meters. It has a beam frame structure, and the platform beams are connected and merged, and the top of the mountain is stopped. Town God's Temple has a strong structure and reasonable layout. It has some local arts and crafts features in its construction. It is the most complete and largest Qing Dynasty building in Shaxian County. This building not only has certain historical value, but also has high architectural value.
During the Anti Japanese War, Fujian Academy of Sciences moved to work in the temple and did not move back to Fuzhou until 1946. In 1991, it was designated as a provincial cultural relics protection unit.
