Manigange is a mysterious and beautiful western town under the jurisdiction of dege County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It has been a post station, a street and several rows of Tibetan bungalows since ancient times.

Manigange township is located on the edge of grassland. As early as ancient times, it was an important market town for Tibetan trade in Yunnan, Qinghai and Sichuan, and also the important town of ancient tea horse road. It is also a commercial distribution center for local residents. To dege, Shiqu County and the hometown of Gesar, Ashu grassland is from here. The pedestrians in the small town are typical Kangba people, with red ropes on their heads and long Tibetan knives on their bodies. There are also more herdsmen who come to the town on horseback. Like in many western movies, they tie their horses to special wooden pillars, and then buy things, drink and sing in the small Tibetan wooden house. They are lively and friendly. The town is a very safe place. The local Tibetans are very friendly and even invite you to visit, have a rest and have tea at home. Manigango means the place where mani stones are piled up and the wind horse flag is flying. It marks the road to Buddha and shows the passers-by. The intrepid Kangba man came and disappeared on horseback like a gust of wind. Manigango is such a place.

Manigange town is mainly inhabited by Tibetans. The local Tibetans are mainly nomadic. They are tough, rough and weather beaten. Therefore, manigange has the title of Cowboy City in Western China. Most of the nomadic Tibetans here have long faces and horns, dark skin, tall and fierce, and long and messy hair, which makes all hair salons close down. The long sleeve Tibetan robe with half shoulder and the black riding boots with high band make it more rugged, handsome and uninhibited.

Tips

The town is full of calf sized Tibetan mastiff, leisurely walking back and forth in the street, deep and thick cry. Don't be afraid when you see a dog without a leash. No matter how big the dog is, it won't bite. However, no matter how small the leash is, don't provoke it.
