Former site of the fifth division of the New Fourth Army

The former site of the fifth division of the New Fourth Army is located in Guoshu village, baifangfan Town, Dawu. After the "Southern Anhui Incident" in January 1941, the CPC Central Committee rebuilt the New Fourth Army, reorganizing the former units of the New Fourth Army into seven divisions, and the yu'e advancing column led by Li Xiannian as the fifth division. In May 1942, the headquarters of the Fifth Division moved to Baiguoshu at the foot of Dawu Mountain. The house is of brick and wood structure, with 5 rooms in size and a total area of 1300 square meters. In 1978, the ginkgo tree Pavilion of Dawu County Museum was built in the north of the village. It lists the history of revolutionary struggle of the five divisions and some revolutionary cultural relics.

The former site of the fifth division of the New Fourth Army is located in gongjiawan, hugang village, shihegang town. There are five original houses of black brick and tile structure. Now only the foundation is left. In July 1945, according to the instructions of the CPC Central Committee, the Henan Hubei border Party committee and the division headquarters of the fifth division of the new fourth army moved from dawushan, Hubei Province to shihegang Town, Shihe District, and the division headquarters was located at the former site of gongjiawan. Li Xiannian lives in the first room in the West. Since then, with siwangshan as the command center, Li Xiannian commanded the fifth division of the New Fourth Army to launch the TONGBAISHAN campaign, and joined forces with the South detachment of 359 brigade of the Eighth Route Army and Henan military region forces.
