Lanyang Museum

--Lanyang museum is a museum located in Toucheng Town, Ilan County, Taiwan. In 1989, local people in Ilan put forward the idea of setting up "Kailan Museum". In December 1992, the government of Ilan County decided to set up "Lanyang Museum", and the site of the museum was selected in Wushi port area, Toucheng town.

--The building of Lanyang museum is designed on the basis of the common geomorphic features of one side hill along Beiguan coast of Toucheng town. The designer is architect Yao Renxi. The building won the 7th "Far East Architecture Award" Taiwan outstanding award, "2010 Taiwan Architecture Award" first prize and other awards. Yao Renxi won the "2012 International Architecture Award" for the main building of Lanyang Museum.

--From the appearance, we can see the perfect integration of architecture and nature. From a distance, it looks like a big black stone. When we walk in and look at it again, we find that it has a different taste. Moreover, the museum provides a geospatial experience in the exhibition hall, and the exhibition levels are diverse, so that tourists can have a multi angle understanding of Ilan.

Development history

Lanyang museum is located in Toucheng Town, Ilan County, Taiwan. In 1989, the local people of Ilan put forward the idea of setting up "Kailan Museum". On March 20, 1999, the Preparatory Office of Lanyang museum was established. Construction started in August 2004. The first phase of trial operation started on May 18, 2010, the second phase of trial operation started on June 25, 2010 and officially opened on October 16, 2010. The building of Lanyang museum is designed on the basis of the common geomorphic features of one side hill along Beiguan coast of Toucheng town. The designer is architect Yao Renxi. Take capital passenger transport or gemalan passenger transport to [Jiaoxi station], then transfer to Guoguang passenger transport (Toucheng Nanfang AO) to [Toucheng terminal], and walk for about 10 minutes. 2. Take capital bus or gemalan bus to get off at Jiaoxi station, take a taxi or transfer to Yilan jinhaoxing bus 131 to get off at Lanyang Museum Station. Train: take the Taiwan Railway to [Toucheng station], walk north for about 20 minutes, or transfer to Toucheng free shuttle bus, or take a taxi for about 3 minutes. Admission: 100 NT dollars for the whole ticket and 50 NT dollars for the students. Opening hours: Thursday to Tuesday: 9:00-17:00 (ticket selling time: 9:00-16:30) closing days: every Wednesday (if it is open on legal holidays), Lunar New Year's Eve, new year's day and other closing days will be announced separately.
