Nitu town

Nitu County in Ali Prefecture of Tibet governs towns and two administrative villages, Nitu village and rejiao village. It is the political, economic, cultural and transportation center of the county. It is located in the northwest of Tibet Autonomous Region and the west of Nitu county. The average altitude is 4260 meters. The total land area is 4681.11 square kilometers, accounting for 5.6% of the total land area of the county, including 2182.7 mu of cultivated land and 3458804.6 mu of grassland. The places of interest include the site of the Japanese tuzong school and Bangongcuo (there is a bird island in the lake). Xinzang highway passes through the town with convenient transportation and complete facilities for commerce, catering, service industry, medical and health care, culture and entertainment.

In December 1960, the sun soil district was established. In 1996, it had a population of about 1500 and governed three townships, among which Wujiang Township governed one or two administrative villages, rejiao Township governed one, two or three administrative villages, and Nitu Township governed one or two administrative villages. In 2001, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged, and Ritu town was established (the former Wujiang township was merged into Duoma township). In 2000, the resident population of Nitu town was 1585 (Wupu). In 2006, it had jurisdiction over a neighborhood committee of jieguosang and two administrative villages of Nitu and rejiao, and the town government was stationed in Nitu village.

It is located in the northwest of Tibet Autonomous Region and the west of Nitu county. The average altitude is 4260 meters. Xinzang highway passes through Rutu Town, which is the throat for Xinjiang to enter Tibet

The high mountains of Karakoram and the branches of Gangdese mountain cross the whole area. Due to the weak water flow, the plateau surface is well preserved. The general terrain is high in the north and South and low in the middle. Along the Bangongcuo Nujiang fault zone, a huge catchment depression with the lowest plateau terrain is formed. Between the surrounding mountains, along the fault zone, it is a wide valley or beaded lake basin depression. Highland barley and other crops are mainly planted. Generally, highland barley is an early maturing variety with a total growth period of 138 days. It is characterized by short growth period, strong cold resistance and fast grain filling. It is the most widely planted variety in high altitude areas above 4200 meters above sea level.

Natural grassland can be divided into six types, nine subclasses, 13 groups and 27 types. Among all kinds of grassland, alpine grassland is the largest, accounting for 58.0% of the available grassland area of the county; followed by temperate desert grassland, accounting for 22.4% of the available grassland area of the county; the third is temperate desert, accounting for 11.6% of the available grassland area of the county; the fourth is alpine desert, accounting for 5.1% of the available grassland area of the county; and the fifth is Lowland Meadow, accounting for 5.1% of the available grassland area of the county 6% of the total grassland area, and the smallest is swamp, accounting for 0.1% of the total available grassland area in the county.

The total land area of Ritu town is 6267028.9 mu, accounting for 5.6% of the total land area of the county, including 2182.7 mu of cultivated land and 3458804.6 mu of grassland.

In 2018, rejiao village of Rutu town met the conditions for withdrawing from poverty-stricken villages (residences), and decided to withdraw after being examined and approved by the poverty alleviation and development leading group of Ali Region.

Infrastructure construction

Xinzang highway passes through Rutu Town, so the traffic is convenient. Commercial, catering, service industry, medical and health, cultural and entertainment facilities are complete.

In September 2018, Ritu village toilet construction project of Ritu Town, Ritu County issued a bidding announcement, and the source of funds was national investment.

In March 2019, a public drinking water project and 62 households' wells have been built in Ritu village, Ritu town;

Every family in rejiao village of Rutu town has wells, tap water is available when the water pump switch is turned on, and the State Grid is also opened, and the construction of a well-off village in the border is being implemented.

Spiritual civilization construction

On March 25, 2016, Ritu village, Ritu Town, held activities to celebrate the liberation day of millions of serfs in Tibet. The activities included the ceremony of raising the national flag, remembering sweet memories, singing and dancing, holding sandbags, tug of war, etc.

On October 23, 2015, Ritu village, Ritu Town, held a donation ceremony. Relevant units and individuals in Huanghua City, Hebei Province donated 3865 pieces of clothes to the masses of Ritu village, benefiting 135 households and 445 people.

Renqing Jiacuo, a family in rejiao village of Rutu Town, has long been caring for the orphan and widowed grandmother Bianba Yangjin, providing fuel and firewood for Bianba Yangjin, and helping with housework from time to time. They have set an example of filial piety and selfless dedication in Rutu town.

Rituzong site

The site of rituzong is located on Zongshan mountain, 10 kilometers away from Ritu County, with an altitude of about 4300 meters. It was once the seat of the old government of Ritu county and the residence of the local government of Tibet. The site is built along with the terrain and has a large scale. It has dozens of floors and hundreds of rooms. The top layer is the temple, followed by the pagoda, and the bottom layer is the residence of county government officials.
