Zhangqiu District Museum of Jinan City was built on September 27, 1984. It is an urban comprehensive museum located in Jinan, Shandong Province. In accordance with the spirit of the notice on free opening of museums and memorials nationwide issued by the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee and the State Administration of cultural relics.

In September 2018, 97 museums, including Beijing Automobile Museum, were approved as national second-class museums by China Museum Association.

Development history

In 1951, a professional cadre of the cultural center was in charge of the management of cultural relics in Zhangqiu District of Jinan City. In April 1981, the cultural relics group was established under the leadership of the Cultural Bureau. The museum was established on the basis of the cultural relics group.

Jinan Zhangqiu District Museum is a local comprehensive museum, located in a typical Zhangqiu residential building in the late Qing Dynasty. The layout of the museum is ingenious and the design is reasonable. The front hall and the back building are connected from north to South and symmetrical from east to west. It covers an area of 1139.97 square meters and a building area of 684.57 square meters. There are 43 houses.

Collection

The museum has held exhibitions of Zhangqiu's brief history, Zhangqiu's revolutionary cultural relics, and Zhangqiu's prehistoric culture. There are nine exhibition rooms, 108 meters of exhibition line, and more than 700 cultural relics.
