Sanduo Village

Located in niukou mountain, Sanduozhai Town, Da'an District, Zigong City, at the junction of the three counties, it is 436 meters above sea level and covers an area of 1.25 square kilometers. Built in the ninth year of Xianfeng (1859) of the Qing Dynasty, the village has a history of one hundred years. Based on the study of its name, it combines the three surnames to build the village together. It implies that Zhuangzi has more than three meanings, which means more happiness, more longevity and more men. The project is huge, the building is magnificent and has a long history. be well-known far and near. It has a good reputation of "the top of stockaded fort in South Sichuan".

Village profile

In 1851, shortly after the news of the outbreak of the Taiping Rebellion came, the big salt merchants in Ziliujing felt in danger and began to discuss building the village. In the third year of Xianfeng (1853), initiated by Li Zhenheng, Yan Changying, Wang Kejia and other four people were gathered to collect money and raise staff to build a fort on the steep niukou mountain. It took seven years. It took more than 70000 liang of silver and more than 1.1 million yuan of time to build the village.

It is because Li, Wang and Yan, the three rich families in salt industry, advocated and presided over the construction. They only wanted their families to prosper and their descendants to multiply, so they named it "Sanduo village". Some people also said that the name of the village implied the meaning of happiness, wealth and longevity. Because the village was built by Li Zhenheng and other five people, a "five public Temple" was built in the village to worship the memorial tablets of five people. The stone wall of "Sanduo village" has a circumference of 1300 Zhang, a height of about 3 Zhang and a thickness of 89 feet. It is divided into four gates in the southeast, northwest and northwest. There are two thousand five hundred and fifty-five crenels on the gates, with 400 mu of farmland, tens of thousands of houses, ponds and grain and grass.

There are also eight sceneries in the village: "Jianshan evening light", "Shuangtang yingyue", "Junling Hengyan", "Xiaoyan DiCui", "MAANSHAN dawn", "Xiandong Yunfeng", "Gujing Quanxiang" and "Buddhist temple Xiaozhong". The whole fortress system is like a closed city wall and an independent kingdom. It is easy to defend but difficult to attack, which is rare in Sichuan.

In 1860, when Li Yonghe and LAN Chaoding attacked Zigong, more than 1000 rich merchants fled to Sanduo village with their families.
