Yuyangli

Yuyangli

There are two lanes in Shanghai called yuyangli, one is Lane 100 of Nanchang Road (old yuyangli), the other is Lane 567 of Huaihai Middle Road (New yuyangli). They are all invested and built by Yipin real estate bank. In order to commemorate the entrepreneurial history of Tianjin, they are named "yuyangli".

No. 6, Lane 567, Huaihai Middle Road, No. 6, yuyangli, Xiafei road. On the west side of yishidan commercial building in Huating, there is an old-fashioned lane with neat appearance, which is the famous yuyangli. No. 6 used to be Dai Jitao's residence. After Dai Jitao moved out in the spring of 1920, the representative of the Communist International vikinski and the member of the Shanghai Communist group Yang Mingzhai set up the "Sino Russian news agency" here, which was one of the important venues for the Shanghai Communists on the eve of the founding of the party. In August 1920, Yu Xiusong and others initiated the establishment of Shanghai Socialist Youth League. In September, the Shanghai Communist group set up a "foreign language society" here to prepare for sending young people to study in Russia. In early 1921, after the establishment of the Chinese Socialist Youth League, it became the central organ of the league.

Memories of the former site

The former site is an old-fashioned Shikumen house with two upper and two lower floors. Downstairs is a classroom with desks and benches. Upstairs, the pavilion facing east is Yu Xiusong's bedroom, and the pavilion facing west is Yang Mingzhai's bedroom. Above the guest hall is the office of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League. The revolutionary activities carried out here attracted the attention of the concession authorities. On April 29, 1921, the French Concession patrol house searched No. 6 yuyangli. In May, the Youth League temporarily suspended its activities.

Renovation and expansion

In 2001, the Shanghai municipal Party committee and the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League carried out a comprehensive renovation and expansion of yuyangli and established a memorial hall. The memorial hall consists of five parts: the preface hall, the exhibition hall of Chinese youth models and the exhibition hall of Shanghai youth sports history.

On the basis of traditional display methods such as historical photos, precious objects, artworks and simulated scenes, the old site has added multimedia and interactive projects loved by young people, such as multi edge flip cards, online games, search on demand stations, and multimedia sitcoms integrating large screen projection, dynamic scenery and phantom imaging, so it is more attractive to young people.

The memorial hall at the former site of the Central Committee of yuyangli Youth League shows the touching deeds of 33 young model figures and groups since the May 4th movement, such as Zhang Haidi, Lei Feng, Yang Liwei, Qiu Shaoyun, Dong Cunrui, Luo Shengjiao, Huang Jiguang, Chinese women's volleyball team, etc., and shows the contemporary youth the spiritual quality of constant self-improvement and striving.
