Xiyu reservoir

Xiyu reservoir is located at the junction of Dahuashan town and zhenluoying Township in the north of Pinggu District, Beijing, and on the branch of cuohe River between Xiyu and Shangzhen village. It got its name because the dam was built near Xiyu village. It was completed in October 1968. 203000 cubic meters of earthwork have been completed. The controlled drainage area is 81.1 square kilometers, with a total storage capacity of 14.3 million cubic meters.

There are 1 main dam, 1 auxiliary dam and 1 spillway. The main dam is a concrete gravity dam with a maximum height of 33 meters and a crest length of 279.5 meters. The auxiliary dam is a homogeneous earth dam with a maximum height of 6.76m and a crest length of 125m. There are two power stations with a total installed capacity of 250 kW and an irrigation area of 20000 mu.

Flood control standard

The principle of grading control is adopted in the calculation of super standard flood, and the flood regulation calculation is carried out for the once-in-a-million-year flood. It is estimated that the highest reservoir water level will be 151.22 meters, the gate will discharge flood by stages, the water level will be below 147.92 meters, and the gate opening will be 1.01 meters. When the daily net rainfall is 551.7mm, the reservoir water level reaches above 151.22m and the flood discharge is 4474m3 / s. If the water level is expected to exceed the maximum allowable backwater level, the reservoir flood control organization and the reservoir management unit should organize human and material resources to heighten the dam crest, and try their best to prevent the reservoir from passing the dam crest.
