Mentougou riverside city and enemy platform

City Protected Historic Site. Originally known as "Sancha Village", it was built in the sixth year of Wanli in Ming Dynasty by Zhang Lu, the vice governor. Because the city is adjacent to Yongding River in the north, it is called Yanhe city. On the north and south sides of the city walls, there is a voucher shaped water gate. The north city wall is 462 meters long, with corner platforms built at both ends, and on top of which are Mawang temple, Zhenwu temple and Huo temple. The Yamen road is between the East and West gates of the city, and the Lin's, Li's, Wang's and ducha's alleys are on the north side of the street. The city is about 500 meters long in the East and West, 250 meters wide in the South and North, 1182.3 meters in circumference, straight lines in the East, West and North, and curved in the south. The walls were built with stones and huge cobblestones. There are brick gates on the walls of the East and West, named Wan'an gate and Yongsheng gate.
