The construction of Dai's well is quite ingenious. The shape and decoration of the well are made of Dai's revered elephants, peacocks and towers.

The well body is decorated with many small round mirrors, which is dignified and luxurious. This is because Dai people like water, respect water, use water to express love and blessing. All Dai villages have well towers of various shapes. Manjinbao well tower is a typical pagoda shaped well.
