Karez Museum

Turpan Karez museum is located in the Karez folk custom park, 888 Ximen village, Yar Township, Turpan City, Xinjiang. The 2.4 million yuan museum was completed and opened in June 2007. It is a unique thematic museum.

The museum is divided into ground and underground parts, including more than 100 meters of underground access, 500 square meters of ground exhibition hall, Karez distribution map, profile map, grape corridor and raisin drying room. Through a large number of pictures, objects and models, the structure, distribution area, function and research results of Karez are presented to visitors in a simple and easy way, so that visitors can truly understand We can feel the historical change and construction process of the underground Great Wall.

Walking into the museum, the first thing you see is a sand table, which intuitively shows visitors the scene of Karez crossing the Gobi and leading the underground snow water of Tianshan Mountain to oases.
