Shiwei port

Shiwei port is located at the east end of the middle reaches of the Erguna River, the boundary river between China and Russia. It is 0.5 km southwest of Shiwei Town, 168 km south of the town of delabudalin, Erguna City, and opposite to the Russian Orochi port across the Erguna River in the West. The opening of Shiwei port has greatly promoted the local economic and social development, and the investment environment has also been significantly improved.

Shiwei port is located at the east end of the middle reaches of the Erguna River, the boundary river between China and Russia. It is 0.5 km southwest of Shiwei Town, 168 km south of the town of delabudalin, Erguna City, and opposite to the Russian Orochi port across the Erguna River in the West. The operation of 110kV substation line in Shiwei Town, where Shiwei port is located, the opening of stability control telephone, the success of sea combined transport trial and the opening of port dredging highway will make Shiwei port become a professional import base of forestry raw materials. It is an important part of the strategy of developing the open belt along the border in our city.

Function and significance

The corresponding Orochi port of Shiwei port radiates nine districts and cities in the northeast of Chita island. It is rich in mineral resources, with gold mining being the most developed. It also has considerable reserves of lead, iron, copper and other mineral resources. Russia is extremely rich in forest resources, with a timber stock of 450 million cubic meters. Due to the need of economic development, Russia is eager to develop resources in the northeast. Especially with the implementation of China's natural forest protection project, the volume of imported timber at Shiwei port has increased by a large margin. In 2001, only one month's import of timber on the ice reached 12, 437 cubic meters, and due to the approach of the spring thawing period, a large number of mined timber is overstocked in Russia. Recently, China and Russia have signed and are performing timber mining contracts with a volume of 1.5 million cubic meters, of which 1 million cubic meters are registered in the Department of foreign trade and economic cooperation of the autonomous region. At that time, Shiwei port will become an important distribution center for imported Russian timber, with an annual cargo volume of more than 600000 tons.

Historical data

In 1988, the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region approved Shiwei as a temporary transit point; in April 1989, the State Council approved Shiwei as a national first-class port with the document guohan (1989) No. 26; construction began in 1989 and was officially opened to the outside world on February 1, 1991. Due to the limited conditions and environment at the early stage of port opening, there were many difficulties at that time, lack of experience in customs clearance management, poor popularity, and low volume of passenger and freight. With the construction and development of the port, the social popularity of Shiwei port has been continuously improved. With the expansion of Sino Russian cooperation fields and the increase of partners, the trade has developed rapidly, and the passenger and freight volume has increased by a large margin. The opening of the port has greatly promoted the local economic and social development, and the investment environment has also been significantly improved.

Current development

Shiwei port has invested 21.0715 million yuan. For the construction of joint inspection dormitory, border trade office, closed warehouse, pontoon wharf two groups. With the establishment of offices, the port boiler room covers a total area of 1170 square meters, and the newly-built joint inspection hall and squadron barracks cover an area of 2310 square meters. 75% of the investment is used for the construction of the Jiehe bridge at the Shiwei olochi port, 310.59 meters long and 4.2 meters wide, with half of the capital borne by China and Russia respectively. On October 1, 2001, with the joint efforts of China and Russia, the boundary river bridge of the Shiwei oroche eryuna river was officially put into use.

After the completion and operation of the Shiwei port bridge, the carrying capacity of the port will be significantly improved: the volume of goods will reach 60 tons / 10000 tons / year, the volume of goods will reach 200000 person times / year, and the number of vehicles entering and leaving the port will reach 100000 vehicle times / year. Moreover, the former Shuwei port's highway construction lags behind and the grade is low, which can't meet the demand of timber transportation in batches. It will form a "bottleneck" effect, and it is urgent to upgrade the transportation capacity.
