Gaojiaya

Gaojiaya building complex was built by Wang Rucong and Wang Rucheng from 1796 to 1811, with a total area of 19572 square meters, 35 large and small courtyards and 342 houses. Its architectural features are: sitting on the mountain, stacked courtyards, grand momentum and complete functions, inheriting the courtyard style of front hall and back bedroom formed in Western Zhou Dynasty . In addition, the unique brick carving, wood carving and stone carving have rich connotation and high cultural taste.

Gaojiaya

Wangjiayuan is located in Jingsheng Town, a famous Chinese historical and cultural town, 12 kilometers east of Lingshi County, Shanxi Province.

Wang's courtyard is the epitome of vernacular architecture in Qing Dynasty, and an art model of inheriting 5000 years of Chinese civilization. It was built by Jingsheng Wang family in Ming and Qing Dynasties and lasted for more than 300 years. The building has a large scale, with "five lanes", "five fortresses", "five ancestral halls" and a commercial street, with a total area of more than 250000 square meters. It has opened 45000 square meters to tourists, including Gaojiaya (shiliubao), hongmenbao (hengzhenbao) and Xiaoyi temple.

The Wangs' courtyard is a fully enclosed Castle style building complex built on the mountain. It has four gates, East, West, North and south. The gate of Dongbao is tall and strong. The gate tower is divided into three floors, with a height of 14 meters. The huge stone plaque with the word "Yin bin" comes from the book of history: Yin, Jing. "Bin, Dao" means to guide the sunrise respectfully.

It is decorated with wooden and brick carvings, with the theme of piano, chess, calligraphy and painting, and with bottles, tripods, flowers and plants. The huge brick wall with the gate is carved with high relief technique, and the lion rolling embroidered ball pattern is carved in the center of the wall.
