Cave 18

The shape of this cave is also an oval plane with a dome. The cave is 18.7 meters wide from east to west and 7.7 meters long from north to south. It is a very high, wide and spacious cave.

The main Buddha statue is a large standing statue, 15.5 meters high. The shape is peculiar and beautiful. The statue of Buddha stands upright with its head high, its body strong and majestic. Two Bodhisattvas are closely attached to the two sides of the standing Buddha. They wear a lotus pattern three bead crown and a small sitting Buddha is carved in the middle. Under the crown, their hair is tied down and their shoulders are drooped. Their eyebrows and eyes are slender and delicate, their noses are pretty, and their lips are thin and smiling. On the outside of the statue of Bodhisattva, there is a flanking Buddha carved on each wall. The standing Buddha was covered with a canopy above his head and trampled on the rosette barefoot.

There are two sides of the Buddha: the East and the west, the right and left of the statue, the Bodhisattva and the central Buddha. They are harmonious, solemn and grand. On both sides of the Buddha's shoulders and above the head of Bodhisattva Yasukuni, there are statues of five disciples carved on the left and right, which are the top ten disciples of Sakyamuni. The layout and shape of the whole grottoes are characterized by prominent themes, orderly levels and exquisite carvings. On the whole, this cave is the most luxurious and exquisite one among the five caves of tanyao.
