Four sided buddha

Four Buddha, which means the king of Brahma. Vatican is the God of Brahmanism in India. When worshiping the four gods, people usually use flowers, incense candles and wooden elephants, or release sparrows. The rich hire several girls in ancient Thai national costumes to perform the traditional God Worship Dance in front of the Buddha statues while singing along with music, aiming at offering sacrifices to the gods, thanking the gods or making vows to thank the gods for their kindness.

The temple of simian Buddha is the most important religious place in Bangkok. It is a place for Thai people to pray and a must for foreign tourists. It is located in the most prosperous downtown area of Bangkok. There are high-grade hotels, shopping areas and office buildings at the intersection, and there are many tourists during the day and night.

What happened

In the evening of August 17, 2015, an explosion occurred outside the temple of simian Buddha. The latest figures from Thailand's emergency center say 18 people were killed and 117 injured in the explosion. Surveillance footage showed dozens of people falling in a pool of blood and frightened people fleeing everywhere.

Event impact

The explosion broke the relative calm in Thailand since the coup in May 2014 and caused great panic in Thai society. Rumors abound on the Internet, and many foreigners who had planned to come to Thailand for business or tourism canceled their itinerary. The mayor of Bangkok announced that 438 primary and secondary schools in Bangkok will be closed on August 18, 2015.

On August 29, 2015, Bangkok time, Thai police arrested a foreign man on the outskirts of the capital Bangkok and found a large number of bomb making materials. Police believe the man may be related to the previous bombings in Bangkok.
