Fuyuan Forest Amusement Park

Fuyuan Forest Amusement Park is a forest recreation area with camphor forest and butterflies as its characteristics. The altitude is about 550 meters, covering an area of 190 hectares. Its camphor forest is known as the largest in Taiwan. There are more than 30 kinds of butterflies in the area. The best butterfly season is from May to August every year. All kinds of butterflies are flying and colorful, so it is also known as butterfly valley.

Main attractions

The green and clear Fuyuan river passes through the whole recreation area. There are many strange stones in the river, some are ferocious, some are round and flat, with different shapes. There are hot springs between the stream beds, but they are floating. They often change their positions, go up the valley, and walk to the end of the trail, which is Fuyuan waterfall. The waterfall water flies down from the mountain wall, and there is a dam below, forming a spectacular water curtain. But in the waterfall area, you can see the water flowing like a curtain of pearls, flying from the cliff to the pool. The color is very spectacular, which is the most attractive place in the whole area. The vast area of camphor forest is the biggest feature. There are footpaths shuttling through the forest, and several pavilions are decorated. It is the best place for forest bathing.

Fuyuan's recreational facilities include xiaotai mountain physical recreation area specially designed for young people, children's recreation area suitable for children, popular camping area and Fuyuan villa providing catering and accommodation. Now the wooden houses are built in the woods, with insects singing and birds singing, full of wild fun.

Fuyuan forest recreation area is located in Fuyuan village, Ruisui Township, about 78 km away from Hualien. It can be reached from 272.5 km of Taijiu line to about 5 km of Guangdong Road.
