Lukang Wenwu Temple

Located in Qingyun Road, jieweili, Lukang Wenwu temple is composed of Wenkai Academy on the left, Wenci in the middle and wumiao on the right. Therefore, it is collectively known as "Wenwu Temple" or "Wenci". The original main worship of Wen temple was Emperor Wenchang, followed by Emperor Kuixing and Confucius. During the period of Japanese occupation, after the restoration in the year of Dazheng, the main worship was the portraits of emperor wuwenchang and Confucius, and the left and right sides were accompanied by the worship of Tianling and Diya. Xue Zhiliang led local gentry Chen Shitao and others to donate money for the construction. It is listed as the third level historic site.

Lukang Wenwu Temple

Therefore, it is collectively known as "Wenwu Temple" or "Wenci". The original main worship of Wen temple was Emperor Wenchang, followed by Emperor Kuixing and Confucius. During the period of Japanese occupation, after the restoration in the year of Dazheng, the main worship was the portraits of emperor wuwenchang and Confucius, and the left and right sides were accompanied by the worship of Tianling and Diya. Xue Zhiliang and Chen Shitao, the local gentry, contributed to the construction. It is listed as the third level historic site.

Basic introduction

The temple was built by Su Yun, a rich gentry, and Xue Zhiliang as a joint venture between the government and the people. It was the patron saint of all businesses in Lukang. Over the years, local people have contributed to the renovation. Wenkai Academy was built later, and its main sacrifice was Zhu Xi. It was in memory of Shen Wenkai (named Wenguang), a servant of Ming Dynasty. In the early days of the founding of Taiwan, Wenkai Academy was the first to set up the atmosphere of teaching, which contributed a lot to the education work in Taiwan, so it was named Wenkai Academy.

Although the Wenwu temple in Lukang was damaged by natural factors such as earthquake and fire, fortunately, it was repaired at the end of November 2005 with the donation of local people. People are welcome to pay homage and visit here.

Self driving:

1. "National highway" No.1: go down from Changhua interchange Road, turn to 142 County Road, connect with No.17 provincial road, go straight to Lukang, and then you can reach Lukang Wenwu temple.

2. Provincial Road: Changhua → turn to No.19 provincial road → turn to No.142 provincial road → connect with No.17 provincial road → go straight to Lugang direction → you can reach Lugang Wenwu temple.

3. Provincial Road: from Dajia town to provincial road 17, go straight to Lugang, and then you can reach the Wenwu temple in Lugang.

4. "National highway" No.1: from Puyan interchange road to East-West Expressway, you can reach Lukang Wenwu temple.

Public transport:

1. From Taipei to Lukang, you can take Taiqi passenger transport or Tonglian passenger transport to Lukang Wenwu temple.
