Zhaxi Peninsula

Zhaxi Peninsula, also known as auspicious Love Island, goes deep into the center of Namco and is the largest peninsula in Namco. Buddhists believe that it is the incarnation of the five Buddhas. There is Zhaxi temple on the island, and there are many pilgrims. In addition, there are many quiet caves on the island, forming a unique karst landform. Zhaxi island is the largest peninsula by the lake. It is also a base camp with some humble hotels and restaurants. At present, it is a tent city, where Tibetans from various pastoral areas gather and make pilgrimages, which is very lively.

Zhaxi Peninsula, also known as auspicious Love Island, is located in Dangxiong County, Tibet. It is the largest peninsula in Namco and the most important scenic spot to visit. Zhaxi peninsula is the most concentrated place of religious activities in Namco.

Tourist attractions

Around Namco, there are five peninsulas protruding into the water from different directions, the most famous of which is Zhaxi peninsula.

Zhaxi peninsula is located in the southeast end of Namco Lake and extends northward into the lake. It is a 10 square kilometer Peninsula composed of limestone. In the middle is a few tens of meters high hill, and the northernmost end is full of numerous stone pillars and strange stone peaks. There are natural stone bridges between the peaks. Due to the long-term erosion of Tianhu lake, there are many quiet caves on the island, which are full of stalactites, forming a unique karst landform. It is a wonder that Zhaxi island has such a strange and colorful landscape.

On the peninsula, there is Zhaxi Temple (Zhaxi, meaning auspicious in Tibetan), which is still surrounded by cigarettes and the morning bell and the evening drum. On the side of the turning road of the peninsula, there is a large cave called lianhuasheng cave. It is said that there is a natural lianhuasheng Pagoda in the cave.

Along the turning road of the peninsula to the lake, the first thing you see is the welcome stone on the side of the road. Countless long prayer flags fell down from the top of the mountain, making the boulders colorful. Yingbin stone is two pieces of dissolution stone, also known as couple stone, is the door god of Namco. It is said that Namco is a goddess who controls the wealth of the grassland in northern Tibet. Therefore, when the traders go out to do business, they must come here to pray for the door god. They can worship Namco only with the permission of the door god, so as to ensure the prosperity of business.

At the foot of the mountain and beside the lake, there are many mani piles made of stones. Looking up, the deep blue sky above my head is integrated with the pure water of the lake; the majestic snow peak in the distance is like a jade house; the grassland beside the lake is like a huge green blanket.

Along the turning road to the lake, the water is clear and transparent, and the water and the sky are integrated.
