Wugen mountain is located in the northwest edge of Chongzhou City, an independent mountain range across the Chengdu fault basin. It includes Gongyi Township, Huaiyuan Town, Daoming town and Wangchang town (former Dongguan township) of Chongzhou City, covering an area of 55 square kilometers, accounting for 5% of Chongzhou's area.

Self driving

1. Chengdu direction: start from Chengdu, get off the expressway at the exit of Baitou Town, Chongzhou city via Chengdu wenqiong expressway, then walk along Bailu road to Baita Lake scenic area to wugen mountain.

2. Ya'an direction: you can go through qiongmin Expressway to Cheng Wen Qiong expressway, get off the expressway at the exit of Baitou Town, Chongzhou City, and walk along Bai road to Baita Lake scenic area to wugen mountain.

3. Direction of Dujiangyan: start from Dujiangyan, drive to Dayi via Western Sichuan Tourism Ring Road, turn left about 3km past Huaiyuan town and enter Chongqing road or Sibao road to wugen mountain.

Since 1998, Chongzhou city has implemented the national ecological environment comprehensive treatment project in the rootless hilly area, renovated more than 20000 mu of slope land under 25 degree slope in the rootless hilly area, and planted more than 10000 mu of high-quality fruit mainly with brown plum, making the area of high-quality fruit in the whole area reach about 25000 mu, and successfully screened out 16 fine varieties of brown plum suitable for local growth. As a result, Chongzhou has become the region with the shortest planting time, the largest area, the most developed varieties and the most mature technology in the western region and even in the whole country. In May 2002, the relevant departments of the Ministry of agriculture appointed Chongzhou as the only "hometown of brown and Li in China". Gongyi Township and the surrounding villages and towns under the jurisdiction of wugen mountain area are characterized by high-quality fruits such as brown plum, which are developed in Liancheng District, striving to build wugen mountain ecological tourism area. Since 2004, Chongzhou municipal Party committee and government have held Plum Blossom Festival and picking festival in Gongyi Township, gathering popularity for wugen mountain ecological sightseeing agricultural park.

Running pheasant

Wugen mountain is a hilly area, and local farmers have used mountain forests and wasteland to breed native chickens for many years. Because these chickens often go to the mountains to feed on grasshoppers and other insects and weeds, and run around in the mountains, they are called running pheasants. Wugen mountain has beautiful scenery, fresh air and is far away from pollution. Running pheasant is mainly composed of grasshopper insects in the mountains, supplemented by corn and Chinese herbal medicine, and often drinks spring water in the mountains. Therefore, it has a unique taste. The meat is not fishy or oily, and it is rich in protein. It contains a variety of essential amino acids, unsaturated fatty acids, trace elements and vitamins.
