Jingzhongyuan tower base underground palace

Jingzhongyuan tower base underground palace is located in Xinli street, Dingzhou City, Hebei Province. The original tower has been destroyed, only the tower base palace remains. Built in the Northern Song Dynasty, the underground palace is square in shape, built of brick, with an area of 7.2 square meters and a height of 2.34 meters. The top of the palace is covered with a stone carved Xieshan style roof, and the two sides of the south gate are painted with heavenly kings. The center of the north wall is painted with Sakyamuni. There are five disciples on each side. The East and west walls are painted with the pictures of emperor Shi Tian and fan Tian worshiping Buddha. More than 100 pieces of Ding porcelain have been unearthed, including a white glazed carved dragon head bottle with a height of 60.7 cm. Jingzhongyuan tower base underground palace is located 200 meters to the south of Dingzhou Xingke hall and 500 meters to the north of the municipal government.

North wall

On the north wall is a picture of Sakyamuni's nirvana, depicting the scene of his ten disciples rushing to mourn after his death. In the painting, Sakyamuni's body lies on his side on the platform of Xumi. His eyes are slightly closed, his chest is bare and his feet are bared. He looks calm and seems to sleep on his pillow. Around him are his ten disciples and parents. On the left side of the picture, Sakyamuni's father sits on a futon, touching his feet. Backstage is his parents in tears. Some of the ten disciples beat their chests and feet, some wailed, some fell to the ground and couldn't stand on their knees. The characters are vivid and vivid.

East and west walls

On the East and west walls, there are six musicians in full dress. The first four and the last two stations are in two rows. Each of them has a fat face and broad ears, a straight chest and a protruding stomach. They all have a round head. They are dressed in shoulder armor, a chest shirt, and musical instruments in both hands. Some play Yu, some play pipa, some play Sheng, some play flute, some play drums, and the auspicious clouds surround them Dancing in the sound of music, the whole picture merges a kind of singing and dancing atmosphere.
