Shandong Yaoxiang National Forest Park is located in the eastern suburb of Tai'an City, 33 kilometers away from the urban area and 8 kilometers away from the main peak of Mount Tai. The forest park is located in the continental monsoon climate zone, with the highest temperature of 29 ℃ in summer, 8 ~ 10 ℃ lower than that in Jinan City. The forest vegetation types are coniferous forest and shrubbery. The total area of the park is 1233.2 hectares, and the forest coverage rate is more than 95%.

There are scenic spots in the Forest Park: Ma pianquan in Dou Jiande, Yao Wang Temple in Sun Simiao, and large sacrificial buildings in Qin and Han Dynasties.

In 1992, it was approved as a national forest park by the former Ministry of forestry.

Tianchi scenic spot

Tianchi scenic area is surrounded by mountains. The water quality of Tianchi is clear. There is a poem praising: the wind blows the water layer of Tianchi, the pines are green on the bank, the orchids are seen in the deep mountains and steep streams, and there is a little cold. According to legend, the goddess of heaven, Bixia Yuanjun, once practiced here, and was finally granted the imperial title by the Jade Emperor, and finally listed in the immortal class.

Yaoxiang forest farm was founded in 1919. Han Fuqu was in charge of Shandong Province from 1930 to 1937. He built summer villas in Longdong and Yuan Hongyu, and Yaoxiang forest farm became his private forest farm.

After liberation in 1949, Yaoxiang forest farm was classified as Taian forest farm and named as Yaoxiang District of Taishan forest farm.

In 1957, with the approval of Shandong Provincial Forestry Department, it was designated as a forestry farm directly under Shandong Province, which was managed by Shandong forestry school and used as a teaching practice base, and was named as the practice forestry farm of medicine township of Shandong forestry school.

In 1992, it was approved as a national forest park by the Ministry of forestry.
