Yunyang Bridge
Yunyang bridge, located in Danyang City, Jiangsu Province, is a long-span bridge in the southern Jiangsu section of the Beijing Hangzhou Grand Canal.
Yunyang bridge is located in Xinmin Middle Road, Danyang City, Jiangsu Province. It was built on December 20, 1989 and opened to traffic on January 25, 1991. The bridge is 162.5 meters long and the main span of four lanes is 70 meters. It is the first large-span unbonded prestressed flexible tied arch bridge built on the southern Jiangsu section of the Beijing Hangzhou canal. It is also the first time that unbonded prestressed concrete is used in large-span bridges in China. There are innovations in structure, materials and technology.
On February 25, 2020, with the approval of Danyang municipal government, the demolition and reconstruction project of Yunyang bridge in Danyang City was officially started. After the reconstruction, the new Yunyang bridge will adopt inclined arch bridge, of which the total length of the bridge is 520 meters and the main bridge is 110 meters.
In addition, Yunyang bridge is also an important bus station in Danyang, but during the demolition and reconstruction period, Yunyang Bridge station was suspended.
