Gongchuan ancient city wall

Gongchuan ancient city wall is located in Gongchuan Town, Yong'an City. The city wall was built in 1562, the 41st year of Jiajing in Ming Dynasty, and it was made of blue bricks and red stones. At that time, when the Japanese invaders invaded, people of insight proposed to build fortresses for self-defense. They donated more than 6000 liang of silver, which lasted several years. The ancient city wall encircles Gongchuan City, with a length of 3100 meters. Now it is about 1300 meters long and about 7 meters high. The bottom of the wall is made of blue bricks, each of which weighs about 15 kg. The bricks are engraved with the words "Gongchuan" and "Gongbao", so Gongchuan city wall is also called "Gongbao". In addition, the names of "Huang Ruisi" and other craftsmen were engraved to prevent the bricks from being used for other purposes and ensure the quality. The inside and outside of the city wall are provided with horse roads to facilitate the villagers to pass. There are few stones and pebbles in the middle of the horse road.
