Happy horse road

The ancient Paoma road in Ilan is the most green ancient road for hiking. It is one of the branches of the ancient Danlan road. It is located on the boundary between Wulai Township in Taipei County and Toucheng town and Jiaoxi Township in Ilan County. It starts from Shipai station of Beiyi highway and ends at Wufeng banner, with a total length of 7 km.

During the Japanese occupation period, it was an important road for transporting arms and pottery. After many years of desolation, the section from Jiaoxi to Shipai was opened up after the reconstruction of Jiaoxi Township Office and people with intention, showing the old style of Paoma ancient road again. During the Second World War, as a military transportation road, it was also called "Army Road" or "running road". Because the ancient road was the main road connecting Taipei and Lanyang in the late Qing Dynasty, it was also called "Danlan road".

Along the way for more gravel mountain path, shady Road, beautiful scenery. The starting point of uphill is Wufeng road to wufengqi waterfall, about 5km. The ancient road forest is rich in insects, birds and shrimps and crabs in the streams. During the period of living and traveling, they have completed an ecological learning list, which is in line with the current learning society. It is not only lifelong learning, but also growing at any time.
