There is a hole in the hillside, namely Taoyuan cave. It is also known as canggeling. It is next to Zhongtan. The north and south walls stand for more than 100 meters. Zhangshui river flows to the West. The mountain is steep and the scenery is beautiful. The house is like Tao Yuanming's peach blossom garden.

Taoyuan cave is a traffic fortress in ancient times. There are four characters "Taoyuan cave" chiseled at the entrance. There was a tea house. "Drink tea from mountain springs to relieve the thirst of pedestrians.". Along the houling, Taoyuan academy, also known as Shixi hall, was built in the Ming Dynasty, and Guanyin pavilion was built on the cliff to worship the white jade statue of Guanyin. In the 29th year of Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty (1846), the "ancient edge of Taoyuan" in the Yi Dynasty was the gate of the "Taohuayuan" cave. It was written by Wang Liansong, a native of the Yi Dynasty, and engraved with stone couplets: "there is no way for white clouds and fragrant grass, but there is no heaven for flowing water and peach blossom" and "the earth is full of spirit and plants, and people respect ancient clothes".

At present, Taoyuan cave has been built as a Yiyu highway. On the stone wall, there are three big characters "Taoyuan cave" written by famous modern poet Zhang guangnian. Seeing the words and appreciating the scenery can still arouse the feeling of thinking about ancient times.

History and culture

There are many myths and legends about Taoyuan cave, such as Shiji where Yulang asked for a boat, golden bell which refused to pay tribute to the palace and rolled into the pool to turn into a bell stone, Taoyuan Shangan where Xu Xuanping lived in seclusion in the Tang Dynasty, and ink bamboo which Li Baiyin sprinkled ink on bamboo leaves. The ancients chanted more poems about Taoyuan cave. In the Song Dynasty, Sun Kang's poem "Taoyuan" says: "it's not time to plant peaches in the cave. In the Qin and Jin Dynasties, it's true. The flowers are everywhere, young and old, and the fisherman will not return for thousands of years. " Cheng Lin, a native of the Qing Dynasty, wrote: "there are thousands of bamboos in the Qingxi river. The plank road is far away from the Sichuan Road. It's difficult to get there. It's abnormal when there's no fixed haze. There are many kinds of plants and trees. The peach blossoms at the mouth of the cave, the water is flying, the pear blossoms on the branches, the snow embraces the fence, the fishermen's songs are singing late, and the clouds are returning to the sunset.".
