Ding Richang Mansion

Ding Richang house is located in beijiaochai street, Jieyang City. It was built in the early Qing Dynasty. Ding Richang was born in Fengshun, Guangdong Province. He lived in Jieyang for a long time. He organized foreign affairs as governor of Jiangsu and Fujian. Later, he was an important minister in the late Qing Dynasty who would run Nanyang coastal defense for the Qing government. There are 96 suites on both sides, all facing the main building on the central axis of the grand bank. In addition, there are four rooms in dongxizhai, forming a pattern of "a hundred birds in front of the Phoenix", with the traditional Chinese character "Xing" on the plane. The whole complex, covering an area of 6100 square meters, is the largest existing ancient residential building in Jieyang City. In terms of wood carving and stone decoration, Dingfu also has high value, so it is known as "a wonderful flower of Chaoshan architectural art".

Ding Richang, named Yusheng (1823-1882), was a famous poet, Lianjia, calligrapher, militarist and minor figure in Westernization activities in Qing Dynasty. He was one of the three major book collectors in Xianfeng Period of Qing Dynasty.
