There are 498 large-scale sealed Mound Tombs. There are countless unsealed Mound Tombs, most of which are Chu tombs. According to historical records, 18 kings of Chu, five emperors of Nanping and 11 vassal kings of Ming Dynasty were buried in the mountains. In 1988, Balingshan ancient tombs were listed as the national key cultural relics protection units. In April 1992, the Ministry of forestry approved baling mountain as a national forest park.

Baling mountain forest park is located in the northwest suburb of Jingzhou City, Hubei Province. It is 12 kilometers away from Jingzhou City and 5 kilometers away from Yihuang expressway. There is a special bus at Jingzhou station. It is a scenic spot with mountain natural scenery and historical relics. Baling mountain, also known as Longshan mountain, is composed of badaochongling mountain, which has been called baling mountain since Ming and Qing Dynasties. Baling mountain is meandering and looks like a giant dragon swimming in the clouds, so it is also called Longshan in ancient times. The trees on the mountain are green, and there are eight kinds of special products, such as Qiao song, Bai Tao, Xiang Li, Tian Xing, chestnut, Qing Cha, Huang Hua, so they are also called Babaoshan.

Ancient tombs

When the horse galloped over the tomb, Guan Yu rose up and cut a knife at the top of the tomb. The tomb became a flat top. Therefore, pingtouzhong got its name. Similar to Guan Yu's life and achievements, there are ancient tombs such as simazhong and luomaozhong.
