Meili Grand Canyon of Lancang River is located in Deqin County, Diqing County, Yunnan Province, China. It is one of the most beautiful grand canyon in China and one of the largest and most important nature reserves in China. It mainly protects rare species such as Yunnan snub nosed monkey and the natural landscape of typical mountain forest vertical Zone in Hengduan Mountain.

Meili Grand Canyon of Lancang River is located in Deqin County, Diqing County, Yunnan Province, China. It starts from Foshan Township in the north and ends at Yanmen Township in the south, with a length of 150 km. It is the place with the largest elevation difference in Yunnan Province. The river surface of the canyon is at an altitude of 2006 meters, the Kawagebo peak of Meili Snow Mountain on the left bank is at an altitude of 6740 meters, and the zhalaqueni peak of Baima Snow Mountain on the right bank is at an altitude of 5460 meters. The maximum height difference of the canyon is 4734 meters, and the distance from the river surface to the peak slope is 14 km. With an average rise of 337 meters per kilometer, the canyon has a nearly vertical slope.

Puqiao

After the Lancang River flows from Tibet to Meili gorge, the river is narrow, the current is fast, and there is no way to cross it. In history, the river was crossed by bamboo slips. In spite of this danger, countless losses of people, horses and property fell into the river in history, but it is actually the throat of Yunnan Tibet transportation (Ancient Tea Horse Road), which is called "sliding barrel lock key". The risk of the ancient tea horse road has become a major livelihood problem for many people. This situation is also forcing people to find ways to change. In 1946, Lai yaocai, a businessman from Lijiang, who is engaged in the business of Yunnan, Tibet and India, invested to build a Tiesuo bridge, named puqiao. From then on, Renma successfully crossed the bridge.

Liutong river crossing

The various natural landscapes in the Meili Grand Canyon of the Lancang River are an eye opener for tourists. Liutongjiang ferry in liutongjiang village, Foshan Township, Deqin County is a dangerous ancient ferry crossing of Lancang River and a necessary place for the ancient tea horse road. In the long years before the founding of the people's Republic of China, people passed through this dangerous river by means of the misoprostol bridge. The tool for crossing the bridge is a big bamboo tube, which slides on the cable, so the river is also called "liutongjiang".

Yinfengkou dyke

The yinfengkou rock wall in the upper reaches of Lancang River is also a soul shaking landscape of Lancang River. The Lancang River flows into the estuary of the Luoma river. When it is blocked by mountains and rocks, the river narrows abruptly. I don't know how many centuries the river has gone through. It's like a sharp sword, cutting the rocks in half and rushing down. The rocks on both sides of the river are as straight as walls, about 100 meters long. It is more than 200 meters high from the water surface. The width of the river is less than 50 meters, which can be described as "looking up a line of sky". In this line of sky, goshawks fly from time to time, hovering between the rock walls. The river water here is like ten thousand horses galloping, setting off huge waves. The waves rolled up and the wind pushed the waves, pounding against the rock wall and making a huge roar. In the past, people chiseled stone and wood on the wall of Dongyan to build a plank road, leading to Tibet and India in the north. I don't know how many caravans and businessmen fell into the river and died.
