Yibin museum is the largest comprehensive museum in Yibin City, Sichuan Province. The museum has held a number of large-scale exhibitions such as "Shunan Bamboo Sea Exhibition", which has made a great impact.

In September 2018, it was identified as a national second-class Museum.

Development history

Yibin museum was founded in August 1983 and officially opened to the public in October 1984. It is under the dual leadership of Yibin district and Yibin City, and its business is oriented to the whole district.

architectural composition

Yibin Museum covers an area of 49 mu. The maintenance Temple group is a building with a building area of about 4000 square meters, including an exhibition hall area of about 2000 square meters and a warehouse area of about 800 square meters.

Collection

Yibin Museum has a collection of more than 5000 cultural relics and more than 500 cultural relics above the third level. They are mainly pottery, porcelain, bronze, calligraphy and painting of the past dynasties, among which the Han Dynasty rock tomb relics are the most distinctive. Since 1984, it has held "Yibin Han Dynasty unearthed cultural relics exhibition", "Southern Sichuan ancient bronze drum Exhibition", "Yibin historical and cultural city exhibition", "Southern Sichuan Bamboo Sea Exhibition", "Yibin natural resources development and utilization Exhibition", "Southern Silk Road ancient coins Exhibition", etc. Among them, "Yibin wine history exhibition" has been exhibited in Shenzhen, which has promoted the research of Chinese wine culture; "Shunan Bamboo Sea Exhibition" has been exhibited in Beijing, which has contributed to the promotion of Bamboo Sea tourist attractions and the research of bamboo culture; "Yibin historical and cultural city exhibition" is the first of its kind in China's historical and cultural city exhibition, which has won a large number of experts, scholars and scholars Praise from the audience. These three exhibitions have been reserved as long-term exhibitions and are open to the public. The two exhibitions of "wine history" and "famous city" will be further modified and enriched as the basic exhibition of the museum.

From 1985 to 1988, there was an irregular academic journal, South Sichuan Cultural Museum (once renamed Yibin Cultural Museum), with four issues in total, which had a great influence in the field of Cultural Museum in China.

Organization setup

The museum is divided into four departments of display, storage, cultural relic protection and service, as well as security section and office. There are 18 staff in the library, 7 with professional and technical titles, including 1 associate research librarian, 5 assistant librarians and 1 accountant.
