Peace square

The peace square is built to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese people's Anti Japanese War and the world anti fascist war. The main body is composed of the Anti Japanese War Memorial Wall, Victory Monument, Jiangqiao Anti Japanese war memorial sculpture, etc.

Shenyang Heping square is located at the intersection of Heping Street, Xinhua Road and Minzhu road in Heping District of Shenyang City. It was built in 1932. It was called Asahi square at that time. It was called Chongde Square during the reign of the Kuomintang. After liberation, it was named Heping square. Shenyang peace square is a revolutionary traditional education base for the people of Shenyang City and even the three northeast provinces. The landmark of peace square is the Northeast Liberation Monument, which is set up to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the liberation of Northeast China, and is located in the middle of peace square.

In 1978, the square was afforested and covered. After several transformations, the square is an open circular ring Island, with vehicles running around the ring island in all directions and natural diversion. In the center of the square is a six petal flower bed, with six spruce trees surrounded by cannas; it is surrounded by four fan-shaped fences and four green belts. There is a landmark building in the center of peace square - Northeast Liberation Monument. The monument marking the 40th anniversary of the liberation of Northeast China stands majestically in the center of peace square.

The Northeast Liberation Monument is a triangular Pavilion shaped monument with a total height of 36.56 meters. The main monument, 25 meters high, is designed as a deformed triangle bullet. The body of the monument is decorated with white marble. The center of the main monument is a seven character northeast Liberation Monument written by Peng Zhen. Three connected English letters "V" are engraved on three sides of the lower part of the main monument, which is set off by the relief of 40 flying pigeons. "V" is the first letter of the English word "victory", and pigeon is a symbol of peace. The simple pattern means the dialectical relationship between war and peace, and the people's cherishing, expectation and good wishes for peace in the three provinces. On the outside of the main monument, there are three arch belts with the top connected and the bottom triangular around the main monument, symbolizing the joyful scene of the people of the three provinces singing and dancing, celebrating the victory together, and the reverence and mourning for the heroes.

Standing in the center of Heping square, Heping District, Shenyang, the Northeast Liberation Monument is a masterpiece of perfect combination of ideological content and art. The monument against the blue sky and white clouds is tall, majestic and solemn.
