Yue Pavilion

Yueting is located in Yueting management area of Donglu Town, Wenchang City, and on the east side of qiongwen highway 800 meters south of goupo Town, Qiongshan city. Yue Pavilion, also known as farewell Memorial Pavilion, is built to commemorate the deep friendship and noble feelings of farewell between Xing you and Qiu Jun, two famous ministers of Hainan in Ming Dynasty. It has been established since 1933.

The pavilion is octagonal, with a gourd top and a height of nine meters. It is constructed of reinforced concrete and glazed tiles.

Xing you, with the name of kekuan and Meiqiu, was a Jinshi in Ming Dynasty. He was born in Shuihou village, Wenjiao Town, Wenchang City. He was once an official in the capital. Qiu Jun was born in zhujuli, Qiongshan city. He was a Jinshi in Ming Dynasty. He was an official in Li department and Hu Department. He was a famous scholar, economist and politician in Ming Dynasty. They used to be officials in the same Dynasty, with outstanding achievements and famous as the capital. They call each other brothers and sisters. Xing you and Qiu Jun in the Ming Dynasty political arena and Hai Rui in the evening period are known as Qiongzhou's "three legs". In 1470, Qiu Jun returned to Qiong from the capital for mourning because of his mother's death. During this period, he visited his senior brother Xing you in Shuihou village many times. Qiu Jun said goodbye to Xing you for the last time when he returned to the court. This time, Xing you saw Qiu Jun off until he got to Hulu shop at the juncture of qiongwen and set up wine to see him off. Later, Qiu Jun took leave from the capital and returned home. He held a grand gathering of clothes and brocade in Hulu shop to commemorate their friendship. From then on, hulufu (today's Yue Pavilion) has become a memorial to the friendship between Xing and Qiu.
