Shuangkui Lane

Shuangkui lane is located in the northeast of Xiucheng District, close to the ancient canal, with a total length of 54 meters and a width of 2.5 meters. It is a typical building form of Ming and Qing Lixiang.

Shuangkui lane was built in 1917. At that time, song Chuanji of Shaoxing purchased one mu of land to build this lane in "Yangguan Street" (Jiaxing Customs was built here in 1902), which is a metaphor for "Yuanyang" and "Yihua shuangkui". It is said that the Song Dynasty originally planned to open brothels, but for some reason it failed, so it was used as a folk house.

There are 26 buildings in the lane, which are arranged on both sides. The doors are in the same pattern. They are all of brick and wood structure. There are relief patterns on the lintel. The facade is two doors and two hanging windows, and the lattice is decorated with lattice. The door beam of the East side house is square wood, and the door beam of the west side house is round wood. The difference between yin and Yang and concave and convex is easy to identify.

Shuangkui lane is the most complete group of old civil buildings preserved in the urban area at present. It has the characteristics of "one street and one river", "people pillow the river" and "Qushui deep lane" in Jiangnan Water Town of Ming and Qing Dynasties.

In 1981, shuangkui lane was listed as a municipal key cultural relic for protection.
