Jiyang Lane Mosque

The mosque hidden in the quiet and deep Jiyang lane is the largest mosque in Panxi area. It was built in the Hongwu Period of the Ming Dynasty and has many historical sites. The eight character gate of the mosque opens to the East, and the four big characters of "quiet and true realm" on the front wall of the gate are particularly eye-catching - indeed, there is no noise and noise here, everything is quiet and solemn. In jiyangxiang mosque, you can find one of the only two temples in the old city of Xichang. In this secret place, you can visit religions and feel the local national culture.

Jiyang Lane Mosque

Jiyangxiang mosque was built in the TAIDING period of the Yuan Dynasty (1324-1327 AD). It is located in jiyangxiang, Xichang City. It is known as the largest mosque in Panxi area and is a cultural relic protection unit in Xichang City. Its original site is in the old west gate of the city (now shita Street civil servant community in Xichang).

Historical evolution

During the TAIDING period of the Yuan Dynasty (1324-1327 A.D.), it was built by more than 60 Hui Muslims who came to Xichang for business. In the second year of Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty (1574 A.D.), it changed its position with the Yu family temple under the command of the local Jianchang capital and moved to the current site for reconstruction. The old Ximen mosque was converted into a family temple by Yu family.

The mosque covers an area of tens of mu.

Exchange and cooperation

Now there are seven imams and three masters in the temple. Besides celebrating the Spring Festival, the Dragon Boat Festival and the Mid Autumn Festival with the Han people, the Hui people in Xichang also celebrate the three major festivals of their own nation, namely, Eid al Fitr, Shengji and gurbang, and even invite foreign Muslims to participate.
