Located at the foot of Wula mountain in the northwest of Kundu District, Baotou, it was first built in 1792, and it took more than 20 years to complete. When the first East living Buddha jiamususangbu came to Beijing to appear, Emperor Qianlong gave him the name of "Faxi Temple". Because the temple is located on the Bank of Kundulun River, it is commonly known as Kundulun Zhao. Most of the Zhao temples are Tibetan buildings, which are close to mountains and rivers, with the Sutra hall as the center, supplemented by several units. The irregular layout consists of 27 pavilions, more than 60 houses, covering an area of more than 160 mu, and the largest building covers an area of 1161 mu There are 60 pillars and 81 rooms in the qiaqin dugong (the main hall) square meters. The whole hall is resplendent and magnificent. On the west side of the main entrance are painted four heavenly kings and Falun. There are colorful murals of Buddhist stories in the hall, offering statues of Sakyamuni, Dora Bodhisattva and zongkaba. On the ceiling are colorful decorative patterns such as animals, dragons and phoenixes, flowers and plants, and Dabao cloud patterns. Other buildings include dongxihuofo mansion, huangmiao temple, Catholic hall, xiaodugong, sutra tower, Jiaba (houlechu) homophonic temple, xiaojiaoting, etc . In addition to the deep Tibetan scriptures, there are also some Mongolian scriptures in the temple. The Manifesto is held on June 19 and 22 of the lunar calendar every year. Kundulun is one of the great summons in the western part of the autonomous region, and has a special position in the temple.

There are 23 Sutra halls and temples, 4 Sutra pagodas and more than 60 houses, covering an area of more than 110 mu. There are 12 Scripture halls and temples, and about 50 houses. Most of the original colored paintings and statues in the hall have been destroyed. After maintenance, the Sutra hall is still a quaint ancient building.
