Guangxiao tower
Guangxiao tower is located in the northwest corner of Tianning Temple. In Nantong, Jiangsu Province, it has the longest history. It is said that "before there was a city, there was a tower, and the predecessors built the city by the tower". It is the oldest of the "three towers of Nantong" (including Zhiyun tower and Wenfeng tower). Guangxiao pagoda, also known as Zhiti pagoda, was built in 864, the fifth year of Xiantong in Tang Dynasty. It was repaired in later dynasties. It was rebuilt in the fifth year of Xuande in Ming Dynasty (1430) and the third year of Tianshun (1457-1464). It is a five level eight faced brick pagoda with a long and exquisite body. It is a scene in the northwest of Haohe river.
Xumizuo type tower base: the eaves of each layer are made of brick, the upper eaves are made of angle beams, the lower eaves are made of overhanging eaves columns, the waist eaves are turned upward, and the wooden railings are made of carved boards. Each layer has four doors. The tower brake is high, the bearing plate is equipped with seven phase wheels, and the top of the brake is equipped with pearls wrapped with flame. The tower is tall and graceful.
