Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall

Located at No.2 Jiefang South Road, Quanshan District, Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province, Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall was completed and opened on November 6, 1965. In May 2003, the Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall was expanded. In July 2007, the new museum was completed and opened.

Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall covers an area of 70000 square meters, with a building area of 25600 square meters. The panoramic gallery with a radius of 25 meters and a height of 28 meters is located in its center. With an exhibition area of 12000 square meters, the museum is divided into six parts: preface, pre war situation, campaign implementation, people's support and memory of heroes. Nearly 3000 pieces of cultural relics, photos and charts are displayed, 9 scenes are restored, and the exhibition line is 1470 meters. The canvas of the panoramic painting "Huaihai Campaign" is 150 meters long and 20 meters high. Taking the main battlefield of the three stages of the campaign as the creative background, it reproduces the vivid scene of the Huaihai Campaign with realistic artistic techniques.

In January 1995, the Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall was announced as a patriotic education base by the Ministry of civil affairs of the people's Republic of China.

In January 2018, Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall became one of the first batch of "national primary and secondary school students' research and practice education bases".

Construction history

In 1959, the State Council decided to build a memorial tower for the martyrs of the Huaihai Campaign and a memorial hall for the Huaihai Campaign.

In 1960, the foundation of Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall was laid.

On November 6, 1965, the Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall was completed and opened.

In May 2003, with the approval of the general office of the CPC Central Committee, the Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall was expanded.

In July 2007, the new Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall was completed and opened.

Architectural pattern

The Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall covers an area of 70000 square meters, with a building area of 2.56 square meters. It is divided into two floors: the first floor is the preface hall, the pre war situation hall, and the campaign implementation hall; the second floor is the campaign victory hall, the people's front support Hall, and the memorial hall. The panoramic gallery with a radius of 25 meters and a height of 28 meters is located in its center. The exhibition area is 12000 square meters,

Cultural Activity

On April 14, 2016, the publicity activities of Xuzhou "National Security Education Day" and the theme exhibition of "national security, mission and responsibility" and the opening ceremony of "Jiangsu national security education base" were held in Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall.

On April 19, 2018, "hidden front · National Security Education Exhibition" was held in Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall.

Honorary recognition

On October 15, 1986, the Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall was approved by the State Council of the people's Republic of China as a national key martyr memorial building protection unit.

In January 1995, the Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall was announced as a patriotic education base by the Ministry of civil affairs of the people's Republic of China.

In July 1997, the Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall was announced as a national patriotic education demonstration base by the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee.

In November 2017, the Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall was announced as a national civilized unit by the Central Steering Committee of spiritual civilization construction.

The opening hours of the Huaihai Campaign Memorial Hall are from 09:00 to 17:00 every Tuesday to Sunday, and it will be closed at 16:15. The museum is closed all day on Monday, and the panorama of Huaihai Campaign is open from Tuesday to Sunday at 10:10 a.m. and 15:10 p.m. respectively.
