Saishang old street, located near Dazhao temple, Danan street, Hohhot, is an ancient street with architectural style of Ming and Qing Dynasties.

Introduction to ancient street

It was built in the Ming Dynasty Wanli years of Dazhao, in front of the west side of a cross street, erected a archway, known as the old street on the plug. In fact, the old street is not old. It took the municipal government two years to renovate the old street, reflecting the highlights of a famous historical and cultural city. The total length of the street is 380 meters. All the buildings fully reflect the characteristics of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is known as the old shadow concentration of old Hohhot, and the real old street was demolished by the government.

These ancient houses, with a history of about 30 years, are mostly earthen walls, which are suitable for antique, folk custom, department store and local product store matching the old city. There are shops opened by old coppersmith and ethnic handicraft shops developed in recent years. The temple, where Dalai III and Dalai V have been, is still full of incense. Naturally, visitors are very busy.
