Baisha Island

Baisha island is located in the golden triangle of Putuo tourism in Zhoushan. Zhujiajian, shaxie's hometown, is a strip of water in the West. The one-way waterway is only 20 minutes from Baisha island. In the northeast, it faces Putuo Mountain, China's four famous Buddhist mountains, and is adjacent to Luojia mountain. Baisha island has pleasant climate all year round, rich island customs, and simple and hospitable fishermen. It is an ideal place for sea fishing and island leisure.

Baisha Island

Baisha island is located in the northernmost part of Yueqing Bay, and Ximen island is about 400 meters southwest. The island was originally four small islands close to each other. It is connected by building ponds to reclaim more than 2100 mu. At present, it covers an area of about 0.96 square kilometers.

Baisha island village at the north end of Yueqing Bay is an island village with beautiful scenery. Seven to eight years ago, it was still a poor village with unknown lights, uneven roads and impassable water. After years of efforts of the people of Baisha Island, the village has been rated as "Wenzhou top ten fishing village", "Wenzhou village renovation qualified village", "Yueqing civilized village", "Yueqing health demonstration village".

Industrial economy

Baishadao village used to be a salt industry area. Due to the limitation of traffic conditions, the economic development of baishadao village has been very slow since the reform and opening up. In 1996, with the concern and support of the Party committee and the government at a higher level, the whole village made concerted efforts to change the production mode from Yantian to Yutang according to local conditions. In 2005, the village seized the opportunity of "reconstruction of millions of Mu ecological fishing ponds in Zhejiang Province" and transformed more than 2000 mu of extensive and inefficient fishing ponds into ecological and efficient breeding ponds. After years of hard work and wisdom, the village's collective economy has increased from the original "shell village" to more than 400000 yuan, and the average annual income of the villagers has increased from less than 2000 yuan to more than 5500 yuan.

Future development

Taking advantage of the "new countryside" construction, baishadao village has carried out a series of "village renovation" work. As early as 2001, the village invested more than 1.6 million yuan to build a new cross sea water diversion project from land to Baisha Island, which completely solved the problem of drinking water for people on the island. In 2003, the village invested more than 1.8 million yuan to build a cement road 5 meters wide and 3.1 kilometers long. In 2005, the village demolished more than 200 open-air cesspits, invested more than 200000 yuan, built three pollution-free public toilets, and planted more than 2000 plants such as Cinnamomum camphora, willow, peach and Camellia in roadside, wasteland and courtyard. In 2006, the state invested more than 250000 yuan to install 60 street lamps in the main roads and concentrated residential areas of the village. Baisha Island ushered in a large-scale construction in history - the state invested more than 30 million yuan in the construction of Baisha Island standard seawall. The face of Baisha island has changed dramatically since then.

At present, the people of Baisha island are vigorously developing aquaculture. At the same time, their thinking tentacles have extended to the vast space of tourism industry. Taking the opportunity of standard seawall construction, they fully tap and integrate the natural scenery and fishery resources of Baisha island by means of national, collective and private investment, so as to create a "new Baisha island" integrating fishery and leisure tourism. We believe that in the near future, Baisha island will become a bright pearl in Yueqing Bay.
